MultiWAVE

Make Noise

8-channel dual wavetable oscillator for the New Universal Synthesizer System or any Eurorack modular synthesizer. Uses a single set of controls and macro modulation functions to generate eight unique audio waveforms at eight independent channel outputs. Each channel contains two independent wavetable oscillators (Osc A and Osc B).729

Capabilities 3

Custom Wavetable Loadingcustom-wavetable-loading
Connect via USB-C while holding MODE button; module appears as external drive 'MULTIWAVE'. Wavetables in WAV format, compatible with WaveEdit software by Synthesis Technology. 8 banks of 8 wavetables each.729
MIDImidi
USB-C MIDI host input (requires firmware 4.1.6+). Supports standard MIDI on Channel 1, per-channel on Channels 2–9, global transpose on Channel 10, MPE (Low Zone/Lower Zone), pitch bend, and CC assignments for Spread, Detune, Glide, Blend, Osc A Wave, Osc A Expo, Osc B Wave, and Multimod Time.729

NameSignalVoltageDescription
Inputs (11)
A-Wave CV Inputcv—Control voltage input for Osc A Wave position. Patching this input disconnects A-Wave from Spread and uses CV input for Modulation Dissemination instead.729
Accumulate Inputgate—When patched, all Activation messages will be held by the target Channel(s) until gate is received at Accumulate. Channels display Orange to indicate they are being held.729
Activate Inputgate—Gate input. At rising edge, Channels Activate according to Span control as determined by current Span Mode.729
B-Wave CV Inputcv—Control voltage input for Osc B Wave position. Patching disconnects B-Wave from Spread and uses CV input for Modulation Dissemination instead.729
Blend CV Inputcv—729
Detune CV Inputcv—729
Glide CV Inputcv—729
Mod Time CV Inputcv—Control voltage input for Mod Time. Patching disconnects Mod Time from Spread and uses CV input for Modulation Dissemination instead.729
Pitch Exponential Inputcv—Control voltage input for Osc A Pitch. Patching disconnects from Spread and uses Modulation Dissemination. Tracks 1v/oct when Follow is Off and Pitch Attenuverter is set fully clockwise.729
Span CV Inputcv—Control Voltage input for Span parameter. Modulate with any control signal, or patch Channel Index output from other N.U.S.S. module.729
Spread CV Inputcv—729
Outputs (9)
Channel Index Outputcv—Sends a Control Voltage indicating currently Activated channel. Patch to Span input on other N.U.S.S. modules.729
OUT 1audio—729
OUT 2audio—729
OUT 3audio—729
OUT 4audio—729
OUT 5audio—Channel 5 individual output. When output mixing is ON: mono mix of all eight channels, Osc A only.729
OUT 6audio—Channel 6 individual output. When output mixing is ON: mono mix of all eight channels, Osc B only.729
OUT 7audio—Channel 7 individual output. When output mixing is ON: odd channels only.729
OUT 8audio—Channel 8 individual output. When output mixing is ON: even channels only.729

Parameters 19

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Blendknob—Sets the output mix between Osc A and Osc B. Live input via Blend CV Input.729
Detuneknob—Global detune across all eight voices. In tune at counterclockwise. Set low for beating/chorusing or high for 'harmonic oscillator' effects where voices spread out into the harmonic series.729
Glideknob—Sets glide amount between old and new pitch value upon reception of change in 1v/oct signal upon channel Activation. No glide occurs when a voice is Activated with the same V/Oct value as its previous activation.729
Mod Timeknob—Sets the rate of wavetable modulation (Multi-Mod LFO). Spreadable parameter — can be different per voice via Spread or Modulation Dissemination.729
Mod Time Attenuverterknob—Bipolar input attenuator for Mod Time Modulation Dissemination or Spread amount.729
Mode Buttonbutton—Selects Span Mode (Channel Index/Round/Parallel/Shift Register), indicated by Span Activity Window color.729
Osc A Follow Buttonbutton—Sets Osc A Pitch Follow behavior. Free = independent pitch; Pink = Expo Detune ±1 octave; Magenta = Linear Detune (consistent Hz offset); Cyan = Octaves; Green = Integer Multiply ratios of Osc B pitch.729
Osc A Mod Shape Buttonbutton—Selects the shape used to read through the wavetable for Osc A timbre modulation. Options: Off, Ramp/Forward, Saw/Backward, Triangle/Ping-Pong, Sine/Wow-Flutter Ping-Pong, Staircase, Orange/Stepped Random, Yellow/Smooth Random. On Page 2 selects Mod Region.729
Osc A Pitch Attenuverterknob—Bipolar input attenuator for Pitch Modulation Dissemination or Spread amount. When Follow is off, set fully clockwise for 1v/oct response.729
Osc A Pitch Panel Controlknob—Sets starting Pitch for Osc A according to the selected Follow mode. Spreadable parameter.729
Osc A Wave Attenuverterknob—Bipolar input attenuator for Osc A Wave Position Modulation Dissemination or Spread amount. On Page 2, selects wavetable bank.729
Osc A Wave Panel Controlknob—Sets wave position in the currently loaded wavetable for Osc A. Spreadable parameter. On Page 2, selects wavetable table.729
Osc B Mod Shape Buttonbutton—On Page 2, selects Multimod Activation behavior: OFF (free running), Magenta (reset on Activation), Cyan (one-shot on Activation). In normal operation selects Osc B mod shape.729
Osc B Pitch Fine Tuneknob—Fine control of starting Pitch for Osc B.729
Osc B Wave Panel Controlknob—Sets wave position in the currently loaded wavetable for Osc B. Spreadable parameter. On Page 2, selects wavetable table.729
Quantization Follow Buttonbutton—On Page 2, enables quantization. OFF = none; YELLOW = 12-TET, affects Pitch, Transpose and V/Oct, locks oscillators to A=440 when fine tune is at noon.729
Spanknob—Sets the Channel Span for Activation according to current Span Mode. In Channel Index mode selects the active channel; in Round mode sets step size; in Parallel mode sets clock divisions. Span at 12:00 selects no channel in Channel Index mode.729
Span CV Input attenuverterknob—Bipolar input attenuator for Span CV Input.729
Spread Combo Potknob—Bipolar panel control for Spread. Sets direction and amount of modulation sent to unpatched Spreadable parameters. When Spread CV Input is patched, operates as bipolar attenuator.729
