SY0.5
Analog drum voice — a 1:1 recreation of one channel of the Pearl Syncussion SY-1. Two oscillators feed a voltage-controlled filter and a decay envelope, with six switchable oscillator modes (A–F) spanning tonal toms, metallic FM, vibraphone-like mixes, velocity sweeps, and noise. CV inputs for pitch, decay, filter cutoff, and oscillator-mode selection make one module cover several drum voices.1167
Capabilities 3
Jacks 6 (5 in / 1 out)
| Name | Signal | Voltage | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs (5) | |||
| DECAY CV | cv | -10V to 10V | CV input for decay time, offset to the Decay slider, operating over ±10V.1167 |
| FILTER CV | cv | -10V to 10V | CV input that offsets filter cutoff frequency relative to the Width slider, operating over ±10V.1167 |
| MODE CV/Gate | mixed | 0V to 5V | Dual-function input for oscillator mode selection: in CV mode, a 0–5V signal selects the mode; in Gate Advance mode, a 5V gate/trigger steps to the next mode in the last manually selected direction.1167 |
| PITCH CV | cv | -10V to 10V | 1V/Oct pitch CV input operating from -10V to +10V, acting as an offset to the front-panel Tune slider.1167 |
| Trigger IN | trigger | — | Dynamic trigger input that fires the VCA; responds differently to varying pulse levels, with sensitivity adjustable via a rear-panel trimmer.1167 |
| Outputs (1) | |||
| OUTPUT | audio | — | Main audio output at standard Eurorack signal levels.1167 |
Parameters 10
| Name | Type | Range | Behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| DECAY | fader | — | Adjusts the sustain (decay time) of individual drum notes.1167 |
| DIRECTION | switch | — | Selects whether the sweep pitch movement goes up or down from the initial struck pitch.1167 |
| LFO FADER | fader | — | Sets the depth of LFO pitch modulation; at zero, LFO modulation is disabled entirely.1167 |
| LFO SHAPE | switch | — | Selects the LFO waveform: square produces abrupt pitch jumps with time spent at extremes; triangle produces near-continuous smooth pitch movement.1167 |
| LFO SPEED | fader | — | Controls the rate of the LFO, which adds vibrato to the sound produced by the oscillator and sweep sections.1167 |
| Mode Decrement | button | — | 1167 |
| OSC Mode Buttons | button | — | Manually increments or decrements the oscillator mode (A–F); the direction of the last manual change determines the sweep direction when Gate Advance mode is active on the MODE CV input.1167 |
| S/H | switch | — | Enables sample-and-hold pitch randomization; the S/H rate follows the LFO Speed control and operates independently of LFO modulation depth, randomizing the pitch on each hit.1167 |
| SPEED | fader | — | Sets how quickly the pitch transitions from its initial struck value to the final pitch set by the Sweep Depth control.1167 |
| WIDTH | fader | — | Sets the filter cutoff frequency range; a wider setting causes the frequency to start high and sweep down.1167 |
