MA35 VCF/A

Manhattan Analog

Internally-coupled VCF and VCA based on the Korg MS-10. The VCF uses the Korg-35 filter architecture with discrete transistors (LP/HP switchable via toggle or CV); the VCA uses the MS-10 single-transistor design for characteristic color. Includes a two-channel audio input mixer.338

Capabilities 3

Self-Oscillationself-oscillation
MS-20-style OTA filter (LP+HP series); aggressive self-oscillation with distortion character.338
Vcfvcf
Korg-35 filter architecture using discrete transistors, switchable between Lowpass and Highpass via toggle switch or mode CV jack.338
Voltage-Controlled Amplifiervca
MS-10 single-transistor VCA design, internally coupled to the VCF, adding distinct color to the sound.338

Inputs (1)
modemixedCV input that switches the VCF between Lowpass and Highpass modes.338

Parameters 2

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Input GainknobControls input level for the two-channel audio mixer. Modular-level signals begin to overdrive the input past approximately 12 o'clock; below that gives a smooth, liquid sound; above gives fuzzy overdrive character.338
Zones
Clean
Overdrive
  • Clean -100–0%Below 12 o'clock: smooth, liquid sound without overdrive.338
  • Overdrive 0–100%Past 12 o'clock: inputs overdrive into fuzzy, screaming distortion character.338
Mode SwitchswitchToggles the VCF between Lowpass and Highpass modes. Can also be switched via the mode CV jack.338
