Quaid Gigaslope

ALM Busy Circuits

Four-channel multi-mode modulator with each channel outputting a variable staged slope that can act as a complex envelope, flexible LFO, or step sequence. Each slope can contain up to 13 stages with per-stage level, time, and curve controls, per-slope quantiser with 19 scales, and selectable output ranges.387

Capabilities 5

Envelope Generatorenvelope-generator
Each of the 4 channels can act as a multi-stage envelope generator (Env mode) with up to 13 stages, sustain, and assignable CV modulation.387
Function Generatorfunction-generator
Four-channel staged-slope modulator; each channel's variable multi-stage slope acts as a complex envelope, LFO, or step sequence.387
LFOlfo
Each of the 4 channels can operate as a free-running LFO (Loop mode) with up to 13 stages defining complex waveforms.387
Quantizerquantizer
Per-slope quantiser with 19 different scales including Chromatic, Major, Minor, modes, pentatonic, and more. Can be assigned to a CV input.387
Step Sequencerstep-sequencer
Each of the 4 channels can act as a step sequencer (Step mode) with up to 13 stages, per-step level and time, and a built-in quantiser with 19 scales.387

NameTypeRangeBehavior
Curveknob—Sets the shape of the voltage curve from logarithmic (fully CCW) to linear (12 o'clock) to exponential (fully CW).387
Zones
Logarithmic
Linear
Exponential
  • Logarithmic -100–0%Logarithmic curve shape — fully CCW.387
  • Linear 0–0%Linear curve shape — at 12 o'clock.387
  • Exponential 0–100%Exponential curve shape — fully CW.387
Endbutton—Hold End and use ← → to set the last active stage of the currently selected slope.387
EOCbutton—Enables/disables a 200ms trigger output every time one of the selected slope's stages ends. If multiple slopes have EOC on, the output triggers when any stage of any enabled slope ends.387
EOSbutton—Enables/disables a 200ms trigger every time the last stage of the selected slope ends. If multiple slopes have EOS on, the output triggers when the last stage of any enabled slope ends.387
Levelfader—Sets the maximum output CV the stage will reach. The actual voltage depends on the output range (+/-) set for the slope. Can be assigned to a CV input.387
Output Range (+/-)button—Pressing toggles between Unipolar 0-5V (LED lit) and Bipolar ±5V (LED off). Press and hold sets half-range Unipolar 0-2.5V (LED flashing).387
Quantiserbutton—Cycles through 19 available musical scales. LEDs show which notes the CV will snap to. Holding Quantiser and pressing Reset returns to no quantisation.387
Resetbutton—Immediately resets the sequence to the first stage in Env and Loop modes, or resets on the next received trigger in Step mode.387
Slopebutton—Changes the currently selected slope (indicated by associated LED). Each slope has independent mode, quantiser, output range, sustain stage, EOC and EOS settings.387
Startbutton—Hold Start and use ← → to set the first active stage of the currently selected slope.387
Sustainbutton—Hold Sustain and use ← → to select a stage that will hold its output CV level for as long as the trigger/gate input remains above 1V. Only applies to Env mode.387
Timeknob—Sets the length of time the stage will take to reach its set level. Turning clockwise increases time. Can be assigned to a CV input.387
Typebutton—Cycles through 3 available types (modes) for the currently selected slope: Env (one-shot envelope), Loop (free-running LFO), or Step (sequencer).387
